Qualify for Special Funding

MEDICAL LABORATORY ASSISTANT / TECHNICIAN

This program provides a comprehensive medical laboratory education. Graduates of the program are eligible to write the Medical Laboratory Professionals Association of Ontario certification examination for Medical Laboratory Technicians to become a certified MLPAO member. Specific topics covered in this program will be: • Medical Terminology • Anatomy & Physiology • Basic Chemistry • Phlebotomy & Electrocardiogram • Microbiology, Hematology, Immunology, Cytology, Histopathology • Standards of Practice • Computer fundamentals
 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

1. Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) or Equivalent 2. Mature students status - 18 years of age or older and pass a pre-entry evaluation Note - All foreign credentials must be translated into English and compared for Grade 12 equivalency by a recognized organization (i.e. WES)
