This program is for people who wish to work in entry level positions in the Transportation and Warehouse Industries. Some examples of jobs include: assembler, production worker, order picker, forklift operator, delivery driver, courtesy driver, shuttle bus driver, school bus driver Transportation and Warehouse Industry Workers: Earn $15.00 – $18.00 per hour to start.Entry Requirements
CLB 2-6 (CLB levels and mathematical requirements depend on career of interest). This is an excellent program for those who have completed ESL and/or have reached satisfactory levels of LINC study.Program Description
- 16 or 32 week program.
- Get Academic Upgrading in Essential Skills English, Math, and Computers.
- Study occupation specific modules to prepare for work experience
- Get training in:
- Occupation specific vocabulary
- Workplace language, culture and communications
- Customer Service
- Work Strategies
- Work experience placement – up to 6 weeks
- Career and job placement support from an Employment Specialist/Job Coach.
- Certificates in:
- Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C
- Forklift Operator
- Transportation of Dangerous Good
- H2S Awareness
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
