MECHANICAL ENGINEERING DESIGN AND TECHNOLOGY

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

The Mechanical Engineering Design and Technology program at Metro College of Technology will accelerate your prospect of a career in mechanical engineering. In this program you will learn knowledge and skills in mechanical design principles, North American design standards, and computer-aided design software systems such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor and CATIA. In this program students will also learn how to use 3D printing technology to  build part models and prototypes.  In addition, as a mechanical designer you will learn how use ANSYS to perform finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics analysis. Students will also acquire valuable practical work experience, not only through many mini project and a comprehensive mechanical design project. Finally co-op placement is available to for those students who intend to develop  their work experience in a mechanical company.
