Medical Laboratory Assistants are multitasking geniuses. They are responsible for a wide variety of tasks including blood collection (phlebotomy). Moreover, Medical Laboratory Assistants can perform electrocardiograms (ECGs), collect other samples, prepare specimens for testing, data entry, and fulfill other basic preanalytical procedures. In short, they are integral members of the health care team who contribute to effective patient care.
