LLI is proud to be the official testing site for CAEL in London, Ontario Canada.
CAEL is a standardized test of English in use for academic purposes, designed to describe the level of English language of test takers planning to study in English-medium colleges and universities, It offers a unique alternative to other standardized test of English because it is an integrated, task-based test on one topic.
Test takers read articles, listen to a lecture, answer questions and write a short essay-all on one subject, as they would be expected to do in a first year university or college classroom. The language tasks and activities are systematically sampled from introductory university courses, when students are being introduced to topics the know little or nothing about.
London Language Institute offers the CAEL preparation program for both intermediate and advanced level students. CAEL can be used to illustrate English proficiency for university entrance and is rapidly growing in popularity in Canada and into the United States. This exam is 2.5 hours in length and is very test “friendly”.
Many students will take our CAEL Preparation course in conjunction with our ESL and Academic Preparation Program. It is vital that students have the necessary language background to meet high performance levels on tests such as CAEL. Please access our ESL and or University Preparation Program for further details.
