Overview

The Compassion Tech Personal Support Worker (PSW) Training Program is a career-sponsored initiative born from a partnership between Computek College and the Township of Ajax, launched in 2021. It was developed to fill chronic staffing shortages in the healthcare sector of the Durham Region by training PSWs to serve both clinical and community environments.

Goals & Impact

This targeted training program has already graduated nearly 700 PSWs, delivering them into essential roles across long-term care, community services, and healthcare facilities throughout Durham Region. It enjoys widespread backing from local governments, healthcare providers (public, private, and non-profit), and community organizations.
