Continuing Care Assistant (CCA) Certificate

This program gives you the knowledge and skills you need to care for others. Receive training in gerontology, dementia management, promoting independence, working with people with different levels of physical and cognitive ability, administering personal care, medication monitoring, and more. Standard First Aid, CPR Heart Saver ā€˜C’ AED or equivalents and WHMIS are provided as part of this program. A clinical work experience is also included.

There are many employment opportunities available for Continuing Care Assistants in home-care settings, long-term care facilities, private-care homes, acute-care facilities and other healthcare settings.

This program is approximately 32 weeks long and combines online and in-person learning to help you develop into a caring and competent Continuing Care Assistant.
