Diagnostic Medical Sonography

The whole course involves 23 months of intense learning. The learning involves a broad spectrum of theoretical(68weeks) include practical demonstrations of Ultrasound skills in the classroom and supervised practicum in school simulation Lab and clinic practice (32 weeks) experience in our affiliated diagnostic clinics and medical facilities. Our Lab Focuses on a student-centred approach and is equipped with high-quality scanning equipment, capable of providing full computer-interfaced ultrasound images to enhance learning outcomes. Our more than 16 years exam preparation for ARDMS experience accumulates a comprehensive range of exam preparation resource material to prepare students ready for the sonography Canada national exam. Upon successful completion of this diploma program, students are eligible to write the national credentialing examinations for the Generalist Sonographer conducted by Sonography Canada; as well as the certification exams by (ARDMS). Students who are successful in the sonography Canada Core and the Generalist Sonographer (Core/abdominal/ superficial structures, vascular for generalist, obstetrics and gynecology) become certified by Sonography Canada and qualify to register with CMRITO and practice as a Generalist Sonographer. Before Register with CMRITO, a graduate must complete CMRITO online Jurisprudence Course and get the Certificate. Knowledge and Skills the students will learn:
  1. Proper identification of patient’s Document & record patient’s examination
  2. Good communication skills in oral, writing, non-verbal, etc.
  3. Good knowledge of equipment and skillful in machine set-up, use age and maintenance
  4. Critical thinking. Good at examination planning; integration of relevant, available diagnostic data; technical analysis
  5. Perform a variety of scanning includes abdominal, obstetrics, gynecology, MSK, abdominal vascular, small Parts (Thyroid, Parathyroid, Salivary gland, Breast, Groin, Male Pelvis,) Etc
  6. Monitored examination by viewing images to evaluate the quality of diagnostics images and made necessary adjustments.
  7. Differentiate sonographic appearance of normal structures from anomalous and pathologic conditions,
  8. Prepare examination reports for the radiologist.
  9. Maintained quality control checks and a health and safety environment

  • National Competency Profiles by Sonography Canada;
  • Principles described in the Sonography Canada, Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, The Scope of Practice for Sonographers;
  • The regulation Board CMRITO requirements;
  • Other healthcare-related regulation and policy
