Employment Opportunities

This program is for people who wish to work in entry level positions in the Transportation and Warehouse Industries. Some examples of jobs include: assembler, production worker, order picker, forklift operator, delivery driver, courtesy driver, shuttle bus driver, school bus driver Transportation and Warehouse Industry Workers: Earn $15.00 – $18.00 per hour to start.

Entry Requirements

CLB 2-6 (CLB levels and mathematical requirements depend on career of interest). This is an excellent program for those who have completed ESL and/or have reached satisfactory levels of LINC study.

Program Description

  • 16 or 32 week program.
  • Get Academic Upgrading in Essential Skills English, Math, and Computers.
  • Study occupation specific modules to prepare for work experience
  • Get training in:
    • Occupation specific vocabulary
    • Workplace language, culture and communications
    • Customer Service
    • Work Strategies
  • Work experience placement – up to 6 weeks
  • Career and job placement support from an Employment Specialist/Job Coach.
  • Certificates in:
    • Standard First Aid CPR/AED Level C
    • Forklift Operator
    • Transportation of Dangerous Good
    • H2S Awareness
    • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS)
