Hospitality Management

Program Overview

This comprehensive two-year diploma credential prepares students for supervisory and management positions within hotels, resorts, restaurants, casinos, and entertainment venues. Spanning 82 weeks with balanced theoretical instruction (840 hours) and supervised industry internship (840 hours), the curriculum develops advanced operational management competencies in front office, housekeeping, food and beverage operations, supplemented by OPERA property management and POS system proficiency.

Core Competencies

Students develop expertise in managing front office and housekeeping operations, food and beverage service supervision, hospitality sales and marketing strategies, hotel and restaurant accounting, security and loss prevention management, human resources administration, facilities management and design, supervisory leadership techniques, international hotel development principles, and advanced property management systems operation encompassing comprehensive guest experience management across hospitality sectors.

Career Pathways

Entry-level positions: Hotel Front Desk Manager, Restaurant Shift Supervisor, Casino Floor Supervisor, Housekeeping Supervisor, Wait Staff Supervisor, Nightclub Manager roles. Professional advancement: Progression toward General Manager, Director of Operations, Regional Management positions within hotel chains or restaurant groups. Industry demand: Ontario's tourism and hospitality sectors maintain consistent hiring for qualified managers with 90% graduate employment rate and compensation spanning $16-$25/hour at entry level.
