Massage as a Second Career (MASC)

This Continuing Education Course is designed for current Health Care professionals and/or those with degrees in the Health or Physical Science who are considering pursuing a second or complementary career in the field of Massage Therapy. Building upon the participant’s core scientific knowledge, this course covers the fundamental skills and tools that will enable students to understand the interactive and dynamic process used in the assessment, evaluation and treatment of MT clients. This course consist of lectures and practical demonstrations in which students are required to actively participate. Following completion of the course, students will not only have added to their existing skill set but will be in position to knowledgeably assess Massage Therapy as a second career option. Upon successful completion of the course, students may apply for Advanced Standing for the entire first year of the Massage Therapy Program, allowing them (if sufficient Transfer Credits are approved) to transfer directly into the final year of the Program. Upon completion of the Program, graduates are eligible for registration examinations with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario (CMTO) or College of Massage Therapists of New Brunswick (CMTNB).
