MELT TRAINING

Perfect One Driving School is a Registered MELT provider – a requirement from Manitoba Public Insurance for all truck drivers undergoing road test effective Sep 1, 2019. The MELT course consists of 121.5 hours of standardized training to cover knowledge required to operate a semi-trailer truck safely. Drivers are required to successfully complete this mandatory training once with validity of 5 year period. Existing Class1 Drivers with a Manitoba Class1 license issued before Sep 1, 2019 do not need to retest or take MELT course.
  • 40.5 hours of classroom training
  • 40.0 hours of training in yard
  • 41.0 hours of in-cab training
Language assessment will be conducted as part of the training requirement. Those able to demonstrate results of an existing language assessment test and meeting requirements are not required to retest.
